Unit 4: Managing Equal Opportunities
Unit Value: 6
Description of the Unit
This unit is concerned with reviewing and improving equality practices in employment. Candidates are asked to consider the issue of equal opportunities in their own organisation and how well policy is translated into practice.

In addition, candidates will also consider whether equal opportunities has a central or marginal place in their business and how this can be altered.
Summary of Outcomes
Successful completion of this unit requires that the learner:
1.
Differentiate between direct and indirect discrimination.
2.
Evaluate the effectiveness of company equal opportunity policy.
3.
Determine whether own organisation complies with equal opportunities legislation.
